Sony has recently unveiled the VAIO Y 13.3-inch ultraportable notebook series, featuring an Intel ultra-low voltage processor, a 1.2″ thin profile, and a starting weight of 3.9 pounds.

Along with the 1.3GHz SU7300 Intel Core 2 Duo ULV CPU, the Sony VAIO Y features the Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, and up to 500GB of hard drive space. The battery life is up to 8 hours and up to 12 hours with the standard and extended battery, respectively. There's no built-in optical drive.

The display has a resolution of 1366×768 pixels and uses LED backlight.

Other features include a web camera and microphone, a chiclet-style keyboard, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a Gigabit LAN port, three USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, HDMI and VGA outputs, an SD/Memory Stick Pro card reader, and a Firewire port.

Sony's VAIO Y Series runs Windows 7 OS and has a black magnesium casing.
